Midtown Manhattan, NY – Full-time role with a well-established bank.

About the role

A Corporate Finance Officer responsible for evaluating and managing corporate credit transactions, preparing credit applications, monitoring portfolios, building client relationships, and supporting the bank’s ongoing business development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare credit applications and conduct regular credit reviews of customers.
  • Correspond with Head Office to obtain credit approvals.
  • Conduct legal risk analysis in coordination with internal and external counsel as needed.
  • Interact with borrowers and agent banks throughout the credit process.
  • Present prospective transactions to senior management in collaboration with Corporate Finance staff.
  • Evaluate and prepare credit proposals for submission to relevant approval committees.
  • Monitor the existing corporate loan portfolio to maintain performing asset quality.
  • Ensure adherence to the Branch's Policy & Procedures manual.
  • Prepare amendment applications as required.
  • Analyze and document the financial and structural impact of proposed amendments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Manage client relationships to generate loan assets and fee income.
  • Provide continuous support on the existing portfolio to strengthen client partnerships.
  • Identify and deliver new product propositions to deepen corporate client relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Group to resolve administrative issues.
  • Conduct troubleshooting as necessary to ensure smooth transaction execution.

Requirements

  • Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in the financial services industry; bank experience is recommended.
  • Bachelor’s degree; degree in Finance is preferred.
  • Completion of a formal bank credit training program is recommended.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of corporate finance and banking products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Pay

$120,000 to $130,000 per year.
