Corporate Engineering Manager

Ritz-Craft is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Design and Engineering Team. This role involves project collaboration and delivery from concept to production, focusing on design, engineering, and coordination of project schematic designs, drawing sets, subsets, and shop fabrication drawings. Responsibilities
- Lead communication on behalf of the engineering team.
- Manage KPIs to meet the speed of customer demands.
- Develop high-performing staff within the engineering team, fostering a shared value system of integrity and collaboration across all locations.
- Implement quick response and flexible capabilities to satisfy demands of Ritz-Craft teams across all locations.
- Maintain the Master Engineering Calendar for all phases of submittals and required drawing sets for internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish and manage relationships with third-party services to assist with fluctuating request flow.
- Work closely with third-party design and regulatory professionals.
- Develop programs for preparation and creation of 2D/3D CAD/BIM shop drawings and standards.
- Manage and utilize CAD/BIM standards, Ritz-Craft design standards, and production standards for all HUD/MOD/COM project requests.
- Ensure compliance and ongoing technology adoption for success.
- Maintain accurate records and drawings on behalf of the Engineering team.
- Lead collaboration with Project Management, Procurement, Product Development, Sales, Customers, and production teams.
- Troubleshoot design concepts to resolve complex engineering issues.
- Offer design ideas and suggestions based on client needs and input.
Requirements
- 4 years of experience in the modular industry with knowledge of architectural and commercial building construction practices.
- 4 years of direct experience managing design and/or engineering teams.
- Knowledge of modular systems and architectural design (required).
- Knowledge of the manufacturing process (required).
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with CAD software applications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software systems for cross-functional teams (required).
- Relevant knowledge in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, Engineering Technology, or Fabrication (required).
- Strong analytical and project management skills (required).
- Leadership ability and experience building effective teams (required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of 3D modeling as it relates to architectural building components (strongly preferred).
- BIM workflow understanding and application (a plus).
- Hands-on experience with BIM software applications (a plus).
- ERP workflow understanding (a plus).
- Knowledge of Navisworks, BIM360, Lumion, Chief Architect, Tekla, Procore, Solidworks, Sketchup, Rhino, Dynamo, and Grasshopper (a plus).
