About the role

Provide central office legal support to draft, review, negotiate and manage new and existing contracts and account relationships, business and vendor relationships across all CBIZ Property & Casualty and Life Insurance practice groups.

Utilize DocuSign, Docuware, Sagitta and Salesforce for RFP support across all practice areas.

Assist with acquisition issues.

Develop and implement workflow processes with a focus on improvements through AI.

Primary legal support to Property & Casualty when CBIZ is the client (contracts and disputes).

Maintain contract templates.

Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five years of professional in-house counsel experience
  • Juris Doctorate in good standing (preferably Missouri or Kansas)
  • Possesses advanced knowledge and understanding of industry and professional concepts, principles, practices, and procedures
  • Possesses expert knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and professional standards
  • Expert use of applicable technology – specifically Copilot
  • Proficient use of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and enterprise communication and travel solutions (Concur, Microsoft Teams)
  • Experience performing work that requires initiative and leadership skills
  • Ability to anticipate and elicit customer needs
  • Ability to self-learn and develop business and technical knowledge quickly
  • Motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working with quick turnaround times and deadlines
  • Capacity to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations, and with various individuals or groups
  • Displays innovative ideas and solutions and capacity to identify and eliminate redundant work efforts and inefficient processes
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement
  • Accepts full responsibility for self and contribution as a team member
  • Proactively manages issues and expectations of colleagues and clients

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Graduate or specialty degree preferred
  • 8 years experience
  • 6 years supervisory experience (if applicable)
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
