Corporate Counsel
The Corporate Counsel will serve as a key legal partner to the business, owning and driving the negotiation and execution of a wide range of commercial agreements while helping the company scale efficiently and responsibly. This role requires a business-minded attorney who can operate independently, balance legal risk with commercial objectives, and provide practical guidance across teams.
Requirements
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including SaaS agreements, master service agreements, partnership contracts, vendor agreements, and other commercial contracts
- Help maintain and improve contract templates, including improving commercial contracting playbooks and workflows
- Draft and review privacy-related documents such as data processing agreements, privacy policies, terms of use and risk assessments
- Aid in integrating AI tools into legal workflows (e.g., contract review automation)
- Aid in managing the contract lifecycle process including by optimizing the use of contract management tools
- Manage ad hoc legal projects and support broader legal team initiatives
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing
- Practical experience negotiating commercial contracts gained in a law firm, in-house, or a combination of both for 2+ years
- Ability to independently manage and negotiate commercial contracts including those with customers and vendors
- Familiarity with data privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory issues including those relevant to GDPR and CCPA
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills
- Attention to detail with a strong understanding of legal and business risks in contracts
- Strong problem-solving orientation with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
