Key Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including OEM supplier procurement agreements, indemnity agreements, confidentiality agreements, license agreements, inter-company agreements, and other transactional documents
  • Lead the monthly legal invoice process, including intake, review, approval, tracking by firm and matter, and reporting to senior leadership on spend and budget impact
  • Provide legal counsel to cross-functional stakeholders on contract and commercial law matters
  • Lead the development, drafting, and implementation of internal policies and procedures
  • Prepare reports, presentations, memoranda, and other business-critical documentation
  • Support regulatory compliance initiatives, including data privacy efforts such as CCPA compliance
  • Lead annual risk management activities, including procurement of insurance coverage, in partnership with the General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel
  • Oversee the coordination and management of enterprise auto insurance claims
  • Perform additional duties in support of the legal department, including budget preparation, invoice reporting, and participation in cross-functional meetings

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Law Degree from an ABA accredited law school and admitted to practice in good standing in at least one state (preferably Michigan) or the ability to obtain membership in a reasonable amount of time

Skills Required

  • Demonstrated experience reviewing, researching, drafting, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including supplier agreements, indemnity agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other transaction-related documents
  • Strong understanding of laws governing commercial transactions, with a proven ability to interpret and apply legal principles to complex business scenarios
  • Excellent communication and client service skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across functions
  • Highly adaptable, with the ability to respond effectively to evolving business needs and priorities
  • Self-motivated, proactive professional capable of managing diverse responsibilities (including administrative) and addressing challenges independently
