Corporate Controller

About the role

The right candidate will work alongside executive leadership during a planned succession, gradually assuming responsibility for the company's financial operations while helping shape long-term business strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead all corporate accounting and financial reporting functions across a multi-site manufacturing organization
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and executive reporting packages
• Possess strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
• Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis that supports strategic business decisions
• Develop and enhance cost accounting processes, product costing methodologies, and operational financial reporting
• Analyze manufacturing performance, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, and equipment burden rates to identify opportunities for improved profitability
• Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and production leadership to better understand manufacturing processes and financial drivers
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
• Lead annual audits and coordinate relationships with outside auditors, banking partners, and tax advisors
• Mentor and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Participate as a trusted member of the executive leadership team, helping guide the future direction of the organization
• Drive process improvements that increase financial visibility, operational efficiency, and business performance

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA designation
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience
• Manufacturing industry experience
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
• Experience partnering directly with executive leadership on strategic business initiatives
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
• Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to learn the business from the manufacturing floor as well as the executive office
• High level of integrity, accountability, professionalism, and business acumen

Qualifications

• Cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience supporting organizations with $50M+ in annual revenue
• ERP implementation or optimization experience
• Experience leading process improvement initiatives
• Strong operational finance and manufacturing analytics background
• Background supporting multi-site manufacturing operations
• Experience mentoring future accounting leaders
