Corporate Controller
Reporting to the CFO, this role is accountable for the performance, quality, and continuous improvement of multiple related accounting teams, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial information to support business objectives.
About the role
The Corporate Controller plays a critical leadership role in developing departmental plans, aligning resources to organizational priorities, and driving operational excellence across the accounting function. The position requires a strong balance of technical accounting expertise, leadership capability, and business acumen, with decisions guided by corporate strategy, resource availability, and functional plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Global Accounting Function
- Provide leadership to managers and professional staff across multiple accounting areas (e.g., AP/AR, GL, and consolidations)
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation processes are accurate and on time
- Oversee global accounting operations, ensuring alignment with business needs and organizational objectives
- Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Own the preparation and delivery of internal and external financial reporting in accordance with IFRS or US GAAP
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and tax requirements across jurisdictions
- Lead the external audit process and maintain strong relationships with auditors and advisors
- Establish and maintain a robust internal control environment, including SOX where applicable
- Departmental Planning & Resource Alignment
- Develop and execute departmental plans covering operational priorities, process improvements, and organizational initiatives
- Align team objectives and resources with annual business plans and company strategy
- Decide on priorities and trade-offs based on resource availability and organizational goals
- Continuously assess and optimize team structure, capacity, and capability
- Operational Excellence & Problem Solving
- Identify and resolve complex accounting, operational, and organizational challenges
- Drive continuous improvement in the efficiency, scalability, and quality of accounting processes and systems, strengthening close cycles, reporting accuracy, and control effectiveness
- Recognize and address the cross-functional impact of accounting decisions on broader business performance
- Business Partnership & Insight
- Partner with FP&A, Tax, Legal, and business leaders to ensure alignment between financial reporting and operational activities
- Support strategic initiatives such as product launches, pricing models, and market expansion with accounting and financial guidance
- Contribute to organizational decision-making by providing reliable financial insights and analysis
Requirements
- Experience & Expertise
- 12+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including leadership of multiple teams or functions
- Deep expertise in technical accounting, financial reporting, and global close processes
- Experience in a complex multi-entity or multinational environment
- Leadership & Accountability
- Proven ability to lead managers and professional staff, with accountability for performance across multiple teams
- Experience developing and executing departmental plans aligned to broader organizational priorities
- Strong capability to set priorities, allocate resources, and drive results within a structured, policy-driven environment
- Track record of delivering high-quality outputs and continuous operational improvement
- Technical & Functional Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, financial systems, and regulatory requirements
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle) and financial reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of internal controls and audit processes
- Business Acumen & Problem Solving
- Strong understanding of business drivers and how accounting decisions affect broader organizational performance
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex operational and organizational problems
- Ability to balance technical rigor with practical business outcomes
- Education & Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or equivalent designation required

Pay
The salary range for this position is 120,000.00 - 200,000.00 (local currency).
