Corporate Controller
About the role
American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) is seeking a Corporate Controller to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. The ideal candidate will support our growth by leading technical accounting projects, researching ambiguous problems, and implementing novel accounting policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the business' accounting policies and procedures
- Lead the preparation of required SEC filings
- Review monthly manufacturing cost accounting entries (manufacturing and purchase price variances) to ensure booking in accordance with company accounting policies
- Assess and evaluate financial performance of the organization regarding long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts
- Maintain a strong system of internal controls and lead efforts for SOX compliance as the company transitions to accelerated filer status
- Lead, train, develop, and motivate accounting staff to maintain a high level of employee commitment and competence for sustained and self-reliant performance and achievement of departmental and organizational goals
- Act as a strategic business partner to the senior executive leadership team
- Prepare and/or review audit schedules
- Ad hoc analysis/projects
- Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvement and efficiencies opportunities to reduce manual work and increase automation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 10+ years of experience desired
- Strong GAAP knowledge
- Mix of finance/accounting experience
- Proven strong leadership skills
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Qualifications
- Manufacturing experience (cost accounting knowledge)
- MBA preferred
- SAP by Design Experience with a start-up company
