Corporate Communications - Associate Communications Specialist

About the role

Corporate Communications seeks an associate communications specialist to serve our business partners. Variety versus routine will fill your days as you write, edit, collaborate and coordinate communications for multiple audiences, including internal associates and the independent insurance agents who represent Cincinnati Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Develop independence while learning about workflows, processes, corporate standards and culture
• Write and edit content for internal and external audiences
• Support business units by meeting their deadlines and exceeding expectations
• Compose stories of associates delivering service excellence to agents, policyholders and each other
• Share information with agents and policyholders in a simple, digestible way
• Improve and regularly seek ways to gain experience, skills and expertise
• Actively engage to learn and master assigned communications and tasks
• Communicate and interact with a strong sense of positivity
• Seek additional opportunities to contribute
• Demonstrate that as a service department, we work to satisfy our customers and create effective messages
• Confidently interview participants for company-created videos and features
• Follow approval processes for review
• Manage content for our intranet
• Communicate strategic messages to ensure associates understand the why behind their work

Requirements

• Strength in grammar, punctuation, capitalization and organization of content
• Knowledge of AP style
• Excellent listening and writing skills
• The ability to frame content and adjust tone to reach specific audiences
• Strong audience awareness
• Comfort with and openness to new technology
• The ability to handle multiple projects at once, prioritizing as needed

Qualifications

• A degree in communication, English, journalism or related field
• One or more years working in a similar role in a professional setting – preferred but not required
• A position in the insurance industry with knowledge of personal, life or business insurance – preferred but not required

Pay

The pay range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
