Core Services Support Assistant
Start date: as soon as possible (subject to pre-start checks). Permanent, part-time role (20 hours per week, 4 hours per day Monday–Friday; flexible work pattern to be agreed). Year-round contract (term times, school holidays and INSET days).
About the role
We are seeking an exceptional Support Assistant to join our central team (‘Core Services’) to provide high-quality administrative, governance and organisational support across our trust operations. This is a varied and rewarding role that sits at the centre of trust operations. You will work closely with senior leaders, supporting governance processes, maintaining accurate records, coordinating meetings and events, and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our office.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Responsibilities
- Provide executive, administrative, office and visitor support
- Maintain and update databases and management information systems, producing reports and documents
- Provide diary and event coordination
- Provide specialised administrative support to our Governance function
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies
Requirements
- Experience of working at a school or trust in an administrative capacity
- 5 GCSEs including English and Maths, grade A*–C or equivalent
- Strong IT skills, especially SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases and management information systems
- Experience of producing meeting minutes and high-quality documents
- Highly organised and proactive with the ability to prioritise your own workload and work under pressure
- Meticulous eye for detail and the ability to be discrete and maintain confidentiality
- Friendly, helpful and flexible approach with excellent communication skills and customer service

Pay
Grade 6, support staff salary points 6–9: £25,989 to £27,254 (full-time equivalent); £14,049 to £14,732 pro rata. Pay award pending.

Twynham Learning Core Services office, co-located with The Grange School, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 3AU. Reports to Director of Inclusion & Wellbeing.
