Core Section Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a Core Section Coordinator to provide expertise and champion results. You will coordinate the activities of technical and/or non-technical functions of the department on assigned shifts under the supervision of the department supervisor, manager, or director. You will perform technical and non-technical duties in assigned areas of responsibility as required. Functional areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to technical discipline areas in which the department is licensed, specimen collection, specimen processing, and specimen referral testing. You will coordinate quality control, scheduled equipment maintenance, personnel training, regulatory inspection preparation, and scheduling. You will support the Department Manager/Director in achieving department goals for service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, healthy work environment, and integration of intra and inter-departmental activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the activities of technical and/or non-technical functions of the department on assigned shifts under the supervision of the department supervisor, manager, or director.
• Performs technical and non-technical duties in assigned areas of responsibility as required.
• Coordinates quality control, scheduled equipment maintenance, personnel training, regulatory inspection preparation, and scheduling.
• Supports the Department Manager/Director in achieving department goals for service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, healthy work environment, and integration of intra and inter-departmental activities.

Requirements

• 2 year Associates Degree, Science Post Graduate Degree, 4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology preferred
• State of Florida Technologist license or the ability to obtain within 3-5 years as a Medical Technologist

Qualifications

• Knowledge and expertise in specimen collection, specimen processing, and specimen referral testing
• Ability to coordinate quality control, scheduled equipment maintenance, personnel training, regulatory inspection preparation, and scheduling
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support the Department Manager/Director in achieving department goals
