About the role
The Copyright Registrations team is responsible for enforcing WMG's rights in the recorded music catalog repertoire controlled by its U.S. record labels, managing litigations involving WMG's recorded music catalog rights in conjunction with WMG's corporate litigation in-house counsel, fielding inquiries and claims from third parties, researching WMG's recorded music catalog rights, and filing applications to register copyrights in and to WMG's recorded music repertoire. Members of the Copyright Registrations team work closely with members in Business Affairs, Finance, Production, Operations, New Media, and Marketing teams of each label client to fulfill the above-referenced responsibilities for the recordings and records those labels release.
Responsibilities
- Work in coordination with members of our team to draft and file copyright registrations with the USCO for all new sound recordings, music videos, and related artwork, and maintain detailed and accurate records regarding same;
- Consult and coordinate with various internal teams to secure information, documents, and materials needed for copyright registration and recordation purposes;
- Review recording agreements, contracts, and license agreements to confirm copyright ownership and chain of title;
- Prepare documents pertaining to the transfer or change in copyright ownership for recording with the USCO;

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience;
- Prior music industry experience and/or a basic understanding of copyrights as it relates to sound recordings;
- Prior experience being responsible for administrative/clerical work;
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Knowledge of copyright law and music industry practices;

Pay
$28.00 to $30.00 per hour
