About the Role
Support the day-to-day activities and events related to the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the facilitation of a comprehensive university-wide student conduct program (academic and non-academic) as it applies to individual students and student organizations.
- Facilitate student meetings and hearings, conduct investigations, maintain student conduct records, gather data, prepare reports, and assist in the development of policies and procedures (90%).
- Assist with the development and implementation of educational programs and training events for the campus community educating community members on community standards and the student conduct process (5%).
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards (5%).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or Law preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a higher education environment such as student conduct, residence life and housing, or student affairs, or a closely related field which includes experience in an investigation/adjudication environment.
- Knowledge of due process requirements and federal and state laws impacting student conduct policies and procedures.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong administrative capabilities.
- Ability to coordinate all aspects of student disciplinary action and maintain thorough confidential records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience and training in conducting complex investigations including Title IX, Gender-Based Misconduct, Discrimination, and Hazing cases.
- Proficiency with Maxient and student management software.
This position is exempt and based in Ohio.
