About the Role
A state university's institute focused on outdoor recreation, tourism, and hospitality is hiring a Public Relations Coordinator to design, coordinate, and implement marketing and communication strategies that promote the institute's programs, research, and statewide engagement efforts. The institute's mission is to expand and diversify Wyoming's economy through outdoor recreation, tourism, and hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies aligned with the institute's mission and objectives
- Designing, coordinating, and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns to increase visibility and impact
- Managing content strategy and production across web, print, email, and social media platforms
- Designing and producing graphics, videos, and promotional materials using Adobe Creative Suite and other tools
- Ensuring brand consistency across platforms and alignment with university standards
- Planning and implementing marketing strategies for institute-hosted events to increase attendance among students, faculty, industry partners, donors, and policymakers
- Tracking and analyzing marketing performance metrics (email open rates, website traffic, social media engagement) and generating reports
- Managing marketing budgets, contracts, timelines, and vendor relationships
- Assisting with photography, videography, and documentation of programs and services
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years of work-related experience
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)
- Possess proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design
- Show familiarity with higher education, nonprofit, or tourism/hospitality marketing
- Display strong writing and content creation skills tailored to multiple audiences
- Have experience with digital marketing tools
- Have experience with video production and editing

Schedule
This is an on-campus position in Laramie, a town of 30,000 in the Rocky Mountains with over 300 days of sunshine annually.
Pay
$44,000 - $46,250/yr
