About the Role

There are 2 full-time Team Lead openings: one for the Financial Counseling/Imaging Department and the other for the Free-standing ED in Deerfield.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally to assist the manager or supervisor in the operations & staffing of varied Patient Access areas & activities, including registration, scheduling, financial clearance, and emergency department.
  • Coordinate & prioritize patient flow to ensure smooth distribution of workload to Patient Registration Representatives, expediting customer service, patient safety, and patient throughput.
  • Assist in developing policies & procedures for patient information, wayfinding, office management, patient registration, financial screening, point of service collections, patient check-in processes, and patient placement.
  • Lead & coordinate onsite orientation of new colleagues, actively participate in ongoing education, and make recommendations to management regarding performance evaluations.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience with competency in patient access, pre-service, and/or registration.
  • Ability to obtain a national certification in HFMA CRCR and/or NAHAM CHAA within one (1) year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience
  • Epic experience
  • Knowledge of federal or state government agencies, including Medicare, Medicaid, VA, or Charity Care programs, or patient management & healthcare accounts receivable within the revenue cycle.
