Coordinator of Student Organizations (Event Services)
About the role
The Coordinator of Student Organizations, in partnership with another Coordinator, oversees event consultation and management for over 450 student organizations. Responsibilities include overseeing the student organization Event Application process, consulting with and providing assistance to officers, members, and/or advisors regarding student organization event planning, adjudicating procedures related to violations of Event Application Procedures and assigning sanctions, coordinating and developing training and services for student organizations regarding event planning and management, serving as back-up Chair to the Event Safety Committee, attending designated high-risk student organization events, advising the Student Government Association Raupe Travel Grant Committee, coordinating the planning of involvement fairs, including Mean Green Spring Fling, managing student organization Eagle Mail requests, co-training and co-supervising a graduate assistant, maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date program and service webpages, answering student organization-related questions about topics including policy, procedure, successful management, getting involved, etc., collaborating with student organization team members to develop a comprehensive student organization program, conducting presentations and trainings, including student organization orientation, related to student involvement, development, and leadership, preparing, administering, and monitoring budget for respective programs and services, facilitating assessment activities that help improve Student Activities and services for student organizations and their officers, members, and advisors, creating reports for respective programs and services, promoting and advertising/marking Student Activities and respective programs and services to the general campus community, developing relationships and working closely with other departments across campus (e.g., Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life, Risk Management Services, Food Safety, University Centers and Events), serving as part of Student Activities staff support at all campus-wide events, and representing Student Activities on division and university committees.
Responsibilities
- Oversee student organization Event Application process

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field preferred.
