Rose State College seeks a Coordinator of Payroll to oversee payroll functions for all College employees.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, compute, and process payroll for regular, part-time, and work-study employees.
- Manage payroll benefit and deduction claims, including cancellations sent to the Office of State Finance.
- Process all garnishments and levies of wages.
- Create and distribute W-2 forms.
- Verify employment forms and previous employment records.
- Calculate leave of absences, compensatory time, overtime pay, and unexcused absences for all regular employees.
- Maintain accurate, updated records on salaries, benefits, and contract changes.
- Respond to unemployment compensation claims from the Oklahoma Employment Securities Commission.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Collaborate with the Office of Management and Enterprise to resolve payroll issues.
- Assist employees with forms such as W-4, insurance, annuity, and loyalty oath documents.
- Compose correspondence regarding changes in employee benefits law.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent college training in Accounting.
- Three (3) years of responsible payroll work experience, including higher education payroll.
- Two (2) years of experience with fringe benefit programs and supervision of others.
- Proficiency in business office machines (calculator, adding machine, computer).
- Working experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Light lifting and physical tasks including sitting, kneeling, bending, and stooping.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Four (4) years of responsible payroll work experience, including higher education payroll and supervision.
Must be eligible to work in the United States. Finalists may be subject to a background check and/or drug test. Probationary period applies upon hire.
