Coordinator of Billing Compliance
About the Role
Contributes to the fulfillment of Renown Health’s mission by promoting a culture of ethical and compliant billing behaviors and practices. This role involves planning, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining a system-wide billing compliance program as part of the Renown Health Corporate Compliance Program. The program provides education, guidance, audits, and monitoring of billing activity for Renown Health entities. Serves as the primary resource for billing compliance issues, including appropriate business practices for patient registration, documentation, coding, and claim submission.
In collaboration with the Internal Audit Department, this role supports projects related to compliance risk assessments, compliance audit and self-monitoring programs, and compliance audits conducted by independent outside firms.
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess areas of compliance risk.
- Assist with the development and implementation of compliance training and education programs.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding potential compliance concerns and questions.
- Research federal and state regulations.
- Monitor and communicate regulatory changes that impact Renown Health entities.
- Support the Corporate Compliance Officer in timely detection, response, investigation, analysis, and corrective action for compliance matters.
- Chair the Coding and Documentation Compliance Sub-Committee and CBO Billing Compliance sessions.
- Participate in the Renown Health Compliance Steering Committee.
The responsibilities of this position may include other duties as assigned and do not involve patient care.
Requirements
- Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Minimum of five years of healthcare billing or regulatory experience.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in multiple settings (e.g., skilled nursing facilities, acute hospital, home health, physician office) and/or clinical experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Ability to complete online learning requirements, access online forms and policies, and complete online benefits enrollment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
- CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance) certification preferred.
