About the role

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the fiscal administration of NIUVT, a multi-year, multimillion dollar, multi-institutional research network in Southern New England.
  • Serve as official liaison for NIUVT and assist in the informational technology events between URI and other NIUVT participants.
  • Coordinate and manage NIUVT sub-contracts in collaboration with the business office of COE and the Office of Sponsored Projects.
  • Interpret and apply rules, policies, and regulations pertaining to State and Federal funding agencies.
  • Prepare interim progress reports and supplemental grants and respond to reporting data calls as requested.
  • Care for the renewal and no cost extension process for the research projects.
  • Aid in all phases of proposal preparation and procurement activities.
  • Prepare and deliver oral and written reports.
  • Prepare and assist in all phases of domestic and foreign travel arrangements.
  • Organize and schedule meetings, seminars, and workshops.
  • Initiate and prepare various personnel action forms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of two years of business management experience.
  • Minimum of one year of grant administration experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and electronic mail systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver oral and written reports.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, communicate, and carry out large financial projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of grant administration and/or business management experience in a research setting at a university, college, federal defense contractor, or government agency.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing federal research grants and contracts, including budget preparation, income and expense analysis, proposal preparation.

Skills

  • Personal computers, printers, and word processing, database management, and spreadsheet software.
  • Microsoft Office.

Pay

$70,000 - $75,000

Schedule

This position is in-person for the first 3 months, and then will be eligible for hybrid terms negotiated afterward.
