Responsibilities
- Investigates and resolves incidents and patient complaints.
- Provides clinical supervision to the inpatient Social Work staff.
- Collaborates with the Creative Art Therapy program staff to design and monitor group programming.
- Ensures the treatment program is comprehensive, responsive, and patient-centered.
- Develops and implements dynamic treatment plans addressing individual patient needs.
- Supports discharge and after-care planning for patients.
- Manages complex patient dispositions with the treatment team.
- Facilitates interdisciplinary coordination for appropriate discharge planning and continuity of care.
- Conducts routine environmental rounds to maintain a therapeutic, safe, and compliant milieu.
- Inspects the physical environment to ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Oversees the Quality Assurance and Utilization Review (UR) program.
- Interviews clinical staff and monitors compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Disciplines staff if necessary.
- Serves on Quality Assurance/Utilization Review Committee and Incident Review Committee.
- Ensures adequate clinical coverage on the unit.
- Coordinates with lawyers to prepare legal documents and communicate with them.
- Supervises administrative staff and oversees their work.
- Ensures accurate census records are maintained and supports efficient unit operations.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, or Psychologist required.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention and PMCS training preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years job-related experience required.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Familiarity with hospital operations and policies.
