About the role
The Coordinator of Facilities and Properties plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Department at Harbor. This position collaborates closely with executive leadership and vendors to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and coordinates routine maintenance inspections.
- Manages badge and door access systems for all locations.
- Oversees the maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems and the structural integrity and aesthetic appearance of Harbor facilities.
- Aids in preparing bid specifications for contractors and ensures contractors provide necessary information for submitting bids.
- Coordinates implementation of awarded projects to ensure compliance with bid, budgetary, and quality specifications.
- Manages the duties of maintenance, janitorial, and other contractual vendors.
- Collects bids and price comparisons for routine janitorial and related contractual vendors, and implements changes to contracts as needed.
- Serves as a liaison for securing new vehicle leases and ensuring their maintenance.
- Frequently available after hours for maintenance emergencies.
- Stays updated on industry trends and developments relevant to the job.
- Demonstrates continuous growth in essential job competencies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years prior experience in building construction, renovation work, property management, and supervisory experience.
- Prior experience with computerized maintenance systems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of personal auto insurance policy.
Qualifications
- Associates degree preferred.
Skills
Must possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
