Job Specific Duties And Responsibilities
- Utilizes EMR to coordinate inbound and outbound referrals for CARTI providers and services.
- Ensures appropriate documents are provided with outbound and inbound referral order/request, based on agreed upon policy.
- When documents are not provided, conduct the necessary follow-ups to obtain documents.
- Registers patient in Centricity and contacts patient to schedule appointment based on agreed upon scheduling policy by provider.
- Compiles new patient packet and sends to new patients when applicable and notifies referring provider of patient appointment.
- Work is subject to general review only and requires considerable accuracy and responsibility.
- Continually works with reports, records, plans, and programs of a major functional area of the organization where integrity is required to safeguard the organization's position.
- Duties may involve the preparation of data on which the administration bases important decisions and are highly confidential.
- Provides customer service functions to include addressing patient, hospital and provider inquiries and complaints from all sources in a timely manner.
- Initiates necessary corrections to patient charts and attempts to repair damage done to relationship with patient.
- This will require interaction with co-workers, physician offices, hospital, insurance carriers, and administration. Success indicated by problems being resolved by team member requiring little director intervention.
- Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives.
- Completing performance reviews and handling disciplinary actions of direct reports, as needed.
- Maintaining, reviewing and approving timesheets and vacation requests for the CRO team.
- Provide ongoing training to CRO team, as needed.
Education, Certification, Licensure, Registration
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- 3 years of medical office scheduling experience.
- 1 year of management experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment EMR and procedures.
- Ability to organize, analyze and prioritize work.
- Exhibit exceptional communication and negotiating skills to interact with payers, providers and patients.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to work closely with others and function as a team member.
- Must possess the initiative and drive to take a project from beginning to a successful completion.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Reasoning Ability.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
- Interpersonal Skills.
- Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.
- Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.
