Class Description
Coordinating the total swimming pool operation for the recreational and community use programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain swimming pool.
- Aid users in the facility.
- Aid faculty with class equipment needs.
- Maintain all records pertinent to daily operations.
- Support part time associates.
- Serve as weekend pool operator and lifeguard.
- Implement risk management procedures for the aquatic facility.
- Handle emergency situations in the pool area as necessary.
- Monitor and maintain pool water quality by testing every two hours as required, recording, analyzing, diagnosing, and adjusting chemicals as necessary.
- Ensure that all safety equipment is operational to meet county and state regulations in the pool area (AED, Oxygen, CPR masks, First Aid Kits, Spine Boards, Phones, etc.).
Requirements
- Associates of Arts degree required, Bachelors preferred.
- Five years aquatics experience; pool operator certification, Lifeguarding/First Aid certification, CPR and AED certification required.
- Blood Borne Pathogen training provided by CCBC.
- Must be available nights and weekends.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirements include an Associates of Arts degree, Bachelors preferred.
- Five years aquatics experience is required.
- Pool operator certification, Lifeguarding/First Aid certification, CPR and AED certification are required.
- Blood Borne Pathogen training is provided by CCBC.
- Availability for nights and weekends is essential.
Skills
- Knowledge of national, state, and county regulations for swimming pool operations.
- Ability to implement and adhere to these regulations.
- Experience in managing and maintaining swimming pools.
- Proficiency in operating pool equipment and facilities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies and provide first aid.
