COORDINATOR ALUMNI & STUDENT CARE CAREER RELATIONS

About the role

This role advances student career readiness by building and coordinating alumni-driven engagement initiatives that expand mentoring, networking, and professional development opportunities. It also supports key experiential learning and access programs, including the Career Closet and Suit Up initiative, as well as the Job Location & Development program that connects students to part-time employment experiences.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates alumni engagement and networking opportunities, often in collaboration with UAB Alumni Affairs, that connect students with alumni for career exploration, mentoring, and professional relationship building.
• Supports employer engagement efforts by managing employer and job activity in Handshake, conducting outreach, and connecting employers with campus recruiting and student engagement opportunities.
• Manages the Career Closet and Suit Up initiatives, including day-to-day operations, professional clothing donations, promotional efforts, and programming that expands student access to professional attire.
• Promotes part-time employment as a valuable career-building experience and supports employer outreach and recruiting efforts that expand access to part-time job opportunities for students.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Psychology, Higher Education or a related field.
• One (1) year of related experience required.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Related degree fields may include Higher Education/Student Affairs, Business, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Human Resources, Psychology, or other related fields.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, organization, and program coordination skills.
• Experience in areas such as higher education, career services, alumni or employer relations, recruiting, community engagement, or program management.

Pay

$40,000 – $45,000
