Cook Position for School Food Service

About the role

We are seeking a dependable and organized Assistant Cook to support the kitchen Manager with daily food preparation and cooking in the West Palm Beach, FL area.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, day shift
• 4 hours daily
• No weekends or holidays
• Summers off

Responsibilities

• Assist the kitchen Manager with food preparation and cooking menu items according to the NSLP requirements
• Unpack and properly store food deliveries
• Rotate stock and maintain proper inventory organization
• Adhere to all safety and food handling procedures
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Keep kitchen and work areas clean and organized
• Work cooperatively with kitchen staff and management
• Follows instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of cooking experience
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Reliable, responsible, and punctual
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures
• Obtain proper documentation to work in schools

Qualifications

• ServSafe® certification a plus
