Cook Operator

Job Requirements

• Operate machines safely and efficiently according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Follow equipment procedures during start-up, shut-down, and CIP.
• Add ingredients and oversee the cheese blending process to ensure proper moisture content and consistent quality.
• Record and maintain all related documentation and ingredients per SOP.
• Document and communicate production deficiencies to supervisors and management.
• Report and communicate critical information during shift changeovers.
• Use cooker thermometer and chart recorder to track cheese temperature and document adjustments.
• Maintain quality specifications by monitoring cheese and machines continuously.
• Perform product testing and communicate results to the lab.
• Assist maintenance personnel with machine repairs or troubleshooting.
• Assist with general cleaning and housekeeping throughout the plant.
• Adhere to company and customer safety, sanitation, and site policies.
• Train new employees.
• Comply with Quality, Food Safety, Safety, and GMP policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Report employee safety, food safety, and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
• Ensure compliance with quality specifications by monitoring cheese and machines.
• Communicate with the lab to maintain proper moisture content and ensure specifications are met.
• Provide assistance to maintenance personnel for machine repairs or troubleshooting.
• Assist with general cleaning and housekeeping throughout the plant.
• Adhere to all company and customer safety, sanitation, and site policies.
• Train new employees.
• Comply with Quality, Food Safety, Safety, and GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED equivalent.

Skills

Must be able to operate machinery safely and efficiently according to SOPs.
