Cook (Nursing Home)

For nearly 70 years, Stella Maris has been a leading nursing home, providing Baltimore-area residents with a comprehensive range of health and residential services. We are currently recruiting for a First Cook to join our mission-driven organization and provide excellent care to our residents. The First Cook facilitates the service of meals and ensures excellent customer service to our residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all foods as assigned, following established recipes and procedures.
• Accomplish pre-preparation of foods for future meals.
• Ensure all food items are portioned properly and appropriate temperatures are maintained and logged prior to each meal; report any problems to the Executive Chef.
• Follow all proper food handling requirements according to HACCP guidelines.
• Assist with food preparation for special events as requested.
• Properly and thoroughly clean and sanitize all equipment and work surfaces after each use; keep station areas clean and orderly prior to breaks and end of shift.
• Consistently use correct sanitation procedures and equipment, including proper handwashing, wearing hair nets, and using plastic gloves.
• Calibrate all thermometers twice weekly and record the time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay

USD $17.99–$27.20 per hour. Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
