About the Role

This individual is responsible for food production in all areas of the department. A knowledge of all methods of cookery is required for this position. The individual must be able to produce a quality, eye-appealing product within an allotted amount of time. Performs related duties as assigned.

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast - Food Nutrition Services, 1701 Lacey St, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701-5230

Hours: Full-Time

Responsibilities

• Produce quality, eye-appealing food products within an allotted timeframe
• Operate all food preparation equipment including oven, grill, chopper, slicer, blender, mixer, and steamer
• Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Food Handler license within 180 days of hire
• 2 or more years of food service experience preferred
• Ability to push, pull, and grip 50 pounds and pinch 10 pounds

• Effective communication in English, both orally and written
• Basic math skills
• Time management skills
• Great interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Serve Safe Certification
