About the role
This position is responsible for preparing nutritional and attractive meals for clients and staff at the Life Adjustment Program. Essential duties include completing basic meal specials, daily prep cooking duties, preparing resident meals per individualized care plans, and ensuring food and supplies are at correct temperature and condition.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior that aligns with the values of the Hilltop’s Life Adjustment Program.
- Complete basic meal specials, daily prep cooking duties, basic soups, sauces, and desserts from scratch and to the Food Service Manager’s specifications.
- Prepare resident meals per individualized care plans.
- Prepare and plate meal orders utilizing proper food handling and presentation.
- Follow all Mesa County and Colorado Department of Health regulations to proper food handling including proper hand washing, temperature logs, and sanitizing of food service equipment.
- Ensure food and supplies are at correct temperature and condition when received.
- Rotate and stock supplies according to health codes and Food Service Manager’s specifications.
- Assist with catering duties as needed.
- Aid in cleaning, sanitizing, and safely storing dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, bus tubs, etc.
- Inspect and maintain proper chemicals for the dishwasher.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent preferred, plus one year of related experience.
- Minimum 18 years of age required.
- Required Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:
- COLORADO IDENTIFICATION CARD (required)
- FOOD HANDLER’S CARD (required)
- CPR/First Aid Certificate (preferred)
- De-Escalation Training (preferred)
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: High school or equivalent preferred, plus one year of related experience. Minimum 18 years of age required.
Skills
- Must have a Colorado Identification Card (required).
- Must have a Food Handler’s Card (required).
- Preferred CPR/First Aid Certificate.
- Preferred De-Escalation Training.
Benefits
- Competitive Pay and Benefits: Starting wage range is $18.00 to $18.90 per hour.
