Overview

We are seeking a Cook who can prepare a variety of food items, manage their station, and communicate effectively with team members. The position requires flexibility and the ability to work shifts between 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, with some weekend and holiday requirements.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Refers to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift and completes opening and closing checklists daily.
• Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Safely uses a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items.
• Maintains proper portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules.
• Handles, stores, labels, and rotates all products according to state laws.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations.
• Prepares ingredients and understands various cooking methods.
• Multitasks in a high-volume kitchen and handles hot and cold work conditions.
• Performs physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods.

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience.
• At least 18 years of age.
• At least one (1) year of relevant cooking experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Prior experience cooking or kitchen experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility is preferred.
• Experience with safety procedures in a cafeteria or food service environment.
