Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, therapeutic diets, and production schedules.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Assist with inventory, food storage, and proper rotation of supplies.
- Work collaboratively with the Dietary Services team to provide excellent meal service.
- Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare, nursing home, rehabilitation, or senior living setting is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Reliable attendance and a dependable work ethic.
- ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and other physical kitchen duties.
