About the role
A Cook prepares high quality and nutritious food according to standardized recipes. A cook must have the skills and knowledge to perform a variety of activities involved in the handling and preparation of food, as well as knowledge of dietary restrictions and modifications.
Responsibilities
- Prepares meals according to standardized recipes and dietary guidelines
- Handles and prepares various types of food items, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met
- Adapts recipes and meal plans to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences
- Ensures food is served promptly and meets nutritional standards
- May assist in menu planning and inventory management
Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate skills related to culinary experience
- National Food Handler Card - State County City Authority
Qualifications
- 2 years cooking in an Institution, Hospital, or Nursing Home
Skills
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and modifications
- Ability to follow recipes and meal plans accurately
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain hygiene standards

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
