Major Functions
- Prepares all recipes and meals under the guidance of the Head Cook and Director of Food Services.
- Responsible for the complete care, supply, and maintenance of the kitchen and dining facilities.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for kitchen cleanliness, timely meal preparation, hygienic serving, and appropriate portion control.
- Maintains inventory and prepares purchase orders for food supplies in a timely manner.
- Ensures meals meet state requirements and are conducted during monthly Kitchen Seminars for all residents in the housing programs.
- Executes all holiday and special event meals.
- Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings and required in-service training seminars.
- Performs other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in the culinary field, preferably in a non-profit institutional area.
- Must have a valid Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Qualifying Certificate in Food Protection.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Position requires on-call availability.
