About the role

High Point Plymouth Inpatient Campus offers a Full Time or Part Time shift on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 6am-2pm or 10:30am-7pm.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Report to the Kitchen Manager any changes or needs which can better assist the running of the kitchen
  • Monitor dietary aides to insure they are completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment and appliances are in safe working conditions
  • Practice appropriate hygiene activities including proper hand-washing procedures, wearing hair net and gloves and adheres to all sanitary standards
  • Avoids unsafe practices in the kitchen area including turning off appliances, stove, etc., locking up knives, cabinets and doors when not in use
  • Ensures proper labeling, rotating and disposing of all food
  • Completes refrigerator/freezer temperature logs daily and immediately addresses any issues
  • Identifies patients with dietary needs/restrictions and provides alternative meals as needed
  • Serves food to patients in a timely and respectful manner

Requirements

  • Must present as courteous and professional at all times
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion
  • Proficient and knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPHAO's electronic medical records
  • The ability to work with others in cooperative and collaborative manner
  • An understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and/or self-help programs
  • An understanding of boundaries and ethics
  • Complies with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Substance Abuse Confidentiality Regulations and HIPAA Regulations
  • Certification in the HPHAO approved de-escalation program
  • Maintains all health screenings as mandated by licensing agencies; Obtain and maintain Safe Serv and Allergen Awareness certification within 6 months of employment
  • Attends all other training deemed necessary by the Program/Kitchen Manager

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, preferred
  • Prior kitchen/cooking experience required
