About the role
The Cook 3 position at Andaz Miami Beach is dedicated to providing high-quality food preparation and presentation in a commercial kitchen setting. The role requires a strong focus on quality and consistency, teamwork, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Food preparation and presentation in one or more stations of a large commercial kitchen: pantry, saute, grill.
- Follow standardized recipes and ensure consistent preparation according to guest specifications.
- Participate in cleaning of kitchen areas and equipment.
- Aid in the proper storage, preparation, cooking, and presentation of all food items.
- Aid in food preparation in advance of food service hours.
- Follow all safety guidelines including safe handling of food items, knife safety, safe usage of kitchen equipment, etc.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience cooking in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a full-service boutique or luxury resort environment with multiple outlets and concepts.
- Prior experience with computer operations helpful.
- Must be able to communicate professionally in English, both written and verbal.
- Conversational abilities in Spanish helpful.
- Must be able to multi-task and display ability to recognize that the team members’ and guests’ needs are always primary.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business dictates.
