About the role

Our cooks prepare amazing and nourishing meals for our residents and ensure the highest quality standards of foodservice and the best culinary experience is provided at all times. They work closely with the Dietary Director to create and review menus, prepare food, and ensure the meals are prepared in accordance with established portion control procedures, sanitary regulations, and established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate food production for up to 100+ guests to coincide with meal serving times ensuring excellence in quality, temperature and appearance are achieved
• Prepare meals following all necessary guidelines and regulations
• Assist with tray line setup and plate assembly
• Assist with daily cleaning requirements in the kitchen
• Promote hospitality and excellent customer service in every daily interaction with guests, their families, and visitors
• Promote a positive, healthy environment in which to heal and thrive through kind words and encouragement

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility
• Strong knowledge of food procedures
• Experience in a Long Term Care facility is highly desirable

Pay

• Starting wages: $17.95 per hour
• Base rate: $17.10 per hour + Hero Pay $0.85 per hour
• Yearly wage increases
• Alternative starting wages: $17.45 per hour
• Base rate: $16.60 per hour + Hero Pay $0.85 per hour
• Yearly wage increases

Schedule

• All shifts include rotating weekends and some holidays
• Day schedule: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
• Afternoon schedule: 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
• Full‑time and part‑time positions available
• No late nights
