About the Role
Pratt Industries is seeking an experienced Converting professional with Supervisor experience to join our team. The Converting Supervisor will oversee a crew of approximately 13 people, ensuring the production of quality board in a safe, efficient, and waste-minimized manner.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Corrugator experience preferred
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain quality, efficiencies, and production levels set by management and communicate these standards to staff
- Establish high morale within the department by demonstrating fairness, consistency, and addressing employee concerns
- Manage inventories of rollstock and converting supplies
- Coordinate with supervisors and Maintenance Superintendent on repairs and preventive maintenance
- Keep upper management informed of issues affecting department performance
- Enforce corrective action procedures and conduct meetings with violating employees
- Conduct weekly Production/Safety meetings
- Improve career skills through seminars, technical courses, and related college courses
- Implement, maintain, and support company policies, including safety programs and good housekeeping

- Interpersonal Communication: Employee relations, effective group communication
- Language Skills: Reading and interpreting documents, writing reports, and speaking effectively
- Mathematical Skills: Tape measure reading, calculations (percentages, measurements, volume, rate), and high school math concepts
- Technical Skills: Equipment design and capabilities, cost management, quality standards, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, DEQ, EEO)
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, or hear
- Frequently required to use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally required to sit
- Regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions
- Occasional exposure to high places, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration
- Loud noise level
