About the role

This field-based role involves assisting Controls Technicians as the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane customers in a defined market with a diverse commercial base, including Healthcare, Process Manufacturing Facilities, Education Institutions, and Office Complexes. You will assist in the commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems in a commercial environment.

  • Use cutting-edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
  • Enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions.
  • Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weekends as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems.
  • Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Perform basic wiring, sensor installation, and introductory software configuration.
  • Apply understanding of jobsite and electrical safety practices.
  • Communicate effectively with mentors, journeymen, and supervisors.
  • Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of electrical and electronic circuits (Beginner–Intermediate).
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment (Beginner).
  • Basic wiring, sensor installation, and introductory software configuration (Beginner–Intermediate).
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings (Beginner).
  • Understanding of jobsite and electrical safety practices (Basic).

Pay

Hourly base pay range: $18.36 - $30.67. Compensation is tailored to factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
