Job Summary
About the role
The Project Manager at Sunbelt Controls is responsible for acquiring new projects at acceptable margin levels and managing these projects to successful completion. They act as project leaders, flexibly responding to customer requirements and overseeing day-to-day activities.
Responsibilities
- Leadership of client meetings and development of contracts to finalize sales
- Maintaining positive relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and industry contacts
- Developing and updating project implementation plans
- Ensuring profitable completion of each project or task
- Managing cash, cost, and billing
- Communicating financial status to management
- Managing the engineering job process
- Configuring, designing, and engineering systems in the most cost-effective manner
- Overseeing project construction for compliance with specifications, codes, material, installation techniques, and safety activities
- Ensuring customer approval of detailed job submittals
- Managing material procurement process
- Planning and monitoring commissioning and checkout of the system before release to the owner/operator
- Ensuring job completion documentation is complete
- Proactively evaluating potential problems and initiating action to limit negative outcomes
- Providing estimates for additional work and pursuing change-orders for equitable adjustments to contracts
- Coordinating on-site visits for service personnel and ensuring a transition to service
- Developing and maintaining relationships with customers, prime contractors, subcontractors, and trade personnel
- Scheduling and attending progress meetings as directed
- Providing detailed instructions to and interfacing with installers and subcontractors
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent related work and engineering experience
- 10+ years of work experience or an associate degree with equivalent related work and engineering experience
- Five years’ experience in the construction industry
- Ability to operate independently and autonomously, and possess discretionary judgment
- Familiarity with construction trade labor practices
- Ability to effectively represent Sunbelt Controls and communicate with customers and others at varying technical levels
- Basic level of ALC programming and operational experience or willingness to acquire these skills through self-directed training
- Demonstrated experience/ability to develop new business
- Strong interpersonal and project management abilities, with strong organizational skills

Competitive Wages: $88,000 to $116,000 Annual Salary

Pay
Annual Salary Range: $88,000 to $116,000
Schedule
Monday through Friday, beginning between 6:00 am and 7:00 am and ending between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm, with one hour for lunch. Eight hours per day is required, and occasional overtime may be necessary due to business needs.
