Controls Engineer Victor 1st Shift

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate and make recommendation on new and existing equipment updates
• Trains personnel in the use of robots and PLCs
• Follows and supports Magna Body & Chassis and Magna’s operating principles
• Exemplifies a Safety First approach by obeying safety rules and procedures, wearing PPE at all times, and immediately addressing all safety concerns
• Promotes an environment where zero injuries is the expected standard
• Supports quality and environmental policies
• Supports efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey
• Works with vendors and/or contractors, displaying company’s core values

Qualifications

• Two or four year degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• Four years job-related experience
• Solid knowledge of metal stamping, spot welding and assembly processes
• Proven knowledge of PLCs and programming with the ability to program/teach robots
• Electrical knowledge (National Electrical Code) and control wiring
• Excellent interpersonal skills to develop positive relationships with associates, customers and vendors
• Intermediate computer skills required
• Able to communicate with others, both verbally and in writing
• Able to prepare, read, write and interpret reports, instructions, technical procedures, blueprints, diagrams and business correspondence
• Able to clearly and effectively respond to questions from management and customers
• Good organizational skills
• High integrity and honesty
• Able to effectively and appropriately present information and respond to questions from various groups
• Able to apply advanced mathematical concepts as appropriate
