Controls Engineer

About the role

Sentry Equipment, a subsidiary of ProMach’s Systems business, seeks a Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain electrical control systems for our Conveyor Systems and Automated Machines.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed electrical sensor layouts
• Generate electrical schematics for conveyor systems and other machines
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices using Rockwell software
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing control systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and performance
• Conduct testing and validation of control systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Controls or Electrical Engineering preferred
• Five (5) or more years of experience in a similar or related role
• Proven experience in designing and implementing electrical control systems
• Proficiency in programming PLCs (primarily Allen-Bradley, etc.) and HMIs
• Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
• Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of control systems, electrical engineering principles
• Hands-on experience with industrial automation
• Able to travel up to 35% for start-ups and/or service items

• Base salary range: $87,500-$150,000
