Controls Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Controls Engineer to join our team in a clean, climate-controlled, and highly automated automotive-parts manufacturing facility equipped with advanced robotics technology.
About the role
You will develop operation manuals that detail equipment functionality and setup, ensure compliance with supplied specifications and industry standards, and play a vital role in equipment startup, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop operation manuals detailing equipment functionality and set-up.
- Examine and understand supplied specifications to ensure equipment functionality.
- Ensure equipment operates in accordance with approved specifications and industry practices.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure minimum downtime and optimum operation.
- Assist in checking design and details for functionality of engineering work.
- Perform maintenance and necessary changes to automation programs.
- Aid in the development of automation and continuous improvement projects.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems using schematics, programs, and meters.
Skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate understanding of electrical circuits, conduit routing, and wiring.
- Knowledge of electrical panel design, pneumatic and hydraulic design.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, robot programming, VFDs, and servo applications.
- Familiarity with visual inspection systems, measurement sensors, and device communication networks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to meet deadlines without compromising safety or equipment integrity.
- Professional interaction and positive relationship maintenance under pressure.
- Experience in PLC programming, particularly with Omron systems (preferred).
- Robotics and controls engineering experience (preferred).
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Innovative and original thinker.
- Dedicated team player with enthusiastic involvement in tasks.
Pay
$100,000 – $130,000 per year.
