Duties And Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure for multiple companies
• Analyze the monthly financial statement and report them to the President and the VP of Finance
• Aid with the monthly closing process and financial statement preparation, as needed
• Prepare periodic governmental, regulatory, and insurance filings, returns, and compliance reports
• Oversee the Accounts Payable department, including processing A/P transactions
• Participate in periodic meetings focused on Operations and Key Performance Indicators
• Respond to inquiries from the President and the VP of Finance regarding financial results
• Manage banking and other key vendor relationships with the VP of Finance
• Perform analysis for the President and the VP of Finance, as requested
• Conduct insurance audits and gather information for insurance renewals
• Supervise the Accounting and Billing Departments while supporting other departments when necessary
• Attend periodic meetings regarding Accounts Receivable and Collections
• Oversee and prepare schedules for the annual audit/review with our outside accounting firm
• Collaborate with the VP of Finance to secure equipment loans
• Resolve issues with the Billing staff or Accounting team related to Operations, Sales, Safety, or Maintenance teams
• Oversee the annual preparation of 1099s
• Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required

Skills And Qualifications

• Education: BS/BA in accounting is required; CPA preferred
• Technical Skills And Prior Experience: 10+ years of experience in Accounting with supervisory experience are required; Must be highly skilled in financial analysis with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining exceptional accuracy; Strong written and verbal communications skills; Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; Experience with intercompany transactions; Willingness to be a team player - doing whatever is necessary to get the job done; AS/400 and Quickbooks knowledge a plus; Trucking industry experience a plus
