About the role
Reporting directly to the COO, you'll serve as the organization's accounting leader while working closely with executive leadership, operations, sales, shipping, and outside partners. This is a long-term opportunity for a collaborative accounting professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with the interpersonal skills to partner across the organization and help support the company's continued growth within an innovative, technology-forward company.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the company's day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and accounting best practices
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Manage cost accounting processes to support manufacturing operations
- Own and optimize the company's NetSuite ERP environment
- Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic business decisions
- Analyze inventory costs, manufacturing performance, and operational efficiencies
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning initiatives
- Collaborate with operations, sales, shipping, vendors, and executive leadership to improve financial processes
- Assist with audits, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance
- Drive process improvements and leverage AI and technology to increase efficiency throughout the accounting function
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience with Controller-level responsibilities or equivalent
- Strong NetSuite ERP experience
- Extensive GAAP accounting knowledge
- Cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Excellent financial analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative leadership style
- Ability to influence across departments while building positive working relationships
- High attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing inventory accounting experience
- Experience supporting rapidly growing companies
- CPA or CMA certification
- Experience implementing process improvements through automation or AI technologies
- Experience working directly with executive leadership

Pay
Competitive base salary of $113,000-$140,000+, depending on experience. Discretionary annual performance bonus based on company performance.
Schedule
Fully remote position, with candidates in the Knoxville area preferred.
