We are looking for an accomplished Controller to lead accounting operations for a mission-driven healthcare organization in Seatac, Washington. This role calls for a technically strong finance leader who can strengthen close processes, create automation, utilize technology and systems to streamline processes, improve reporting accuracy, and provide dependable oversight across core accounting functions. The ideal candidate brings a sharp analytical mindset, comfort working with financial systems and data, and the ability to guide the team through complex operational priorities in a hybrid work environment. Any experience with system conversions and data migrations is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the full accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Oversee the general ledger and maintain accurate, timely reporting that supports leadership decision-making and audit readiness.
  • Lead balance sheet and bank account reconciliation processes, resolving discrepancies and strengthening internal financial controls.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support accounting technology initiatives, including ERP-related improvements and system implementation efforts.
  • Use data analysis and reporting tools to identify trends, improve process efficiency, and enhance the quality of financial information.
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff while establishing clear expectations, accountability, and consistent execution across the function.
  • Prepare the organization for annual audit requirements by coordinating schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests.
  • Evaluate opportunities for automation and process modernization to reduce manual work and improve accuracy across accounting operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience serving in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role with responsibility for core controllership activities.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including general ledger management, close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with financial systems, reporting platforms, and accounting-related technology.
  • Advanced analytical and data-handling skills, with the ability to extract insights and improve reporting through detailed financial review.
  • Experience supporting audits and maintaining accurate documentation in a controlled accounting environment.
  • Leadership experience managing accounting teams and driving performance, process consistency, and accountability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Healthcare revenue cycle knowledge or prior healthcare industry experience is helpful but not required.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $175,000 to $200,000.
