About the role

Lead Finance & Operations for a Mission-Driven Nonprofit. Great leadership and strong team already in place.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial operations of the company, including the development and management of budgets, preparation of financial statements, and reporting to company executives and the board of directors.
  • Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring all transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and analyses.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making at the executive level to align financial management with short and long-term company goals.
  • Monitor and manage company cash flow and liquidity.
  • Continually assess current accounting operations, offering suggestions for improvement and implementing new processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and their application.
  • Experience in managing the month-end close process.
  • Proficiency in managing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Experience in account reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience in mortgage, construction, or non-profit industries is a plus.
  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
