About the role
Lead Finance & Operations for a Mission-Driven Nonprofit. Great leadership and strong team already in place.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the financial operations of the company, including the development and management of budgets, preparation of financial statements, and reporting to company executives and the board of directors.
- Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring all transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and analyses.
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making at the executive level to align financial management with short and long-term company goals.
- Monitor and manage company cash flow and liquidity.
- Continually assess current accounting operations, offering suggestions for improvement and implementing new processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and their application.
- Experience in managing the month-end close process.
- Proficiency in managing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Experience in account reconciliations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office Suite.
- Experience in mortgage, construction, or non-profit industries is a plus.
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
