Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting operations, including general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and cost accounting.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; ensure accurate general ledger maintenance; review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting documentation; and prepare consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages while analyzing financial results and key variances.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, lender requirements, and applicable regulations. Research and document complex accounting matters, evaluate accounting treatment for significant transactions, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and technical accounting documentation.
  • Design, implement, and monitor an effective internal control environment, including financial reporting controls, segregation of duties, risk mitigation strategies, and governance practices. Identify control deficiencies, lead remediation efforts, and support enterprise risk management and compliance initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and coordinate financial audits, reviews, and related engagements. Manage audit timelines, ensure audit readiness, resolve findings, and oversee completion of all required financial reporting deliverables.
  • Oversee cash management activities, banking relationships, treasury reconciliations, debt covenant compliance, liquidity reporting, and cash flow analysis. Coordinate with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders to support income tax reporting and ensure timely completion of indirect, sales, property, and other regulatory tax filings.
  • Partner with FP&A and business leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, investment analysis, and strategic decision-making. Provide financial insights, identify risks and opportunities, and support business initiatives that drive organizational performance.
  • Lead accounting process improvement efforts by driving automation, enhancing reporting capabilities, optimizing financial systems, and supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, integrations, acquisitions, and other business transformation initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership by providing financial expertise, supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and growth initiatives, and promoting sound financial decision-making across the organization.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting organization through coaching, mentoring, performance management, succession planning, and professional development initiatives. Establish team goals aligned with company objectives while fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner effectively with leaders across operations, sales, supply chain, human resources, information technology, legal, procurement, and other functions to support organizational objectives. Lead cross-functional initiatives, communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders, support company safety initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required. Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required. CMA or other relevant certifications may be considered.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive accounting and finance experience is required. Strong candidates will have:
    • Experience managing monthly close and financial reporting processes.
    • Advanced background in U.S. GAAP and technical accounting.
    • Experience managing external audits.
    • Experience within a private equity-backed, privately held, or high-growth organization preferred.
    • Manufacturing, consumer products, distribution, retail, technology, or relevant industry experience preferred depending on business model.
    • ERP implementation or finance transformation experience preferred.
  • Minimum of (4) years in a manager, or higher-level, position leading accounting teams is required.
