Controller
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, job costing, A/R, A/P, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze timely monthly financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and job cost reports.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with company leadership.
- Establish and enhance systems for tracking job profitability, including the development of reporting tools and processes that provide clear visibility into job performance, cost control, and margin optimization.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial data.
- Manage cash flow planning and reporting to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
- Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Supervise accounting staff and provide professional development and support.
- Evaluate financial and operational performance metrics and KPIs.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and margin analysis.
- Coordinate annual review or audit with external accountants.
- Support strategic initiatives and provide financial insight to assist in decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including WIP schedules, job costing, and percent-complete revenue recognition.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP or project management software is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.

Pay
$75,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience.
Schedule
Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm (Hours may vary as they are subject to change as needed, but this is the standard day-to-day schedule)
