Responsibilities
- Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
- Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; confer with CEO, COO and the leadership team.
- Study, analyze and report on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth.
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures.
- Communicate financial metrics to senior management and provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs.
- Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks in a timely manner and propose strategies to minimize the impact.
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and manage relationships with external auditors.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (MBA preferred).
- Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CPA).
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience with a track record in managing finance (accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting) within a complex organization.
- Proven working experience as a Financial controller in the Finance industry.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting processes.
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Experience with financial reporting and tax preparation.
- Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and financial reporting software.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
- Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
