Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, providing clear insights to senior leadership.
- Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate inventory and COGS reporting.
- Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting.
- Optimize and scale accounting systems, processes, and team structure in alignment with company growth.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team by fostering professional development and ensuring high levels of performance and accuracy.
- Provide training, coaching, and timely feedback to the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a manager/leadership role; previous experience in a Controller role preferred.
- A track record of progressively increasing management responsibilities including building and growing a team and developing leaders from within the organization.
- Experience with e-commerce/retail, consumer goods and inventory highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and retail/e-commerce financials.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, have a strong sense of ownership while balancing multiple priorities.
Please note that this role requires to be onsite four days a week.
